Combat example
Revenants » Devlog

I’ve included a combat example to showcase some mechanics that may be unfamiliar. It focuses primarily on how dice are used during combat:
- PCs and enemies have a limited number of dice each round (Action, Stamina, and Speed). Once a die is used, it cannot be used again until the next round, creating meaningful tactical choices each round.
- These dice are used in Combat Rolls, where a pool is rolled and the highest result is kept as the Total, gaining +1 for every other result of 3+.
- Although not covered in the core zine, in solo or co-op play enemies roll their dice once per enemy group at the start of each round. All enemies of that type use those same results (each with their own set of dice, but sharing the rolled values). This both speeds up resolution and gives players information to plan their actions.
This example is meant to cover the basics, there are many other elements to address in the future. For example, Conditions are mentioned but not really expanded on how they work, this may require its own post.
